Craiova is situated near the east bank of the river Jiu, in central Oltenia

Craiova is the the administrative center of Dolj County.

• Craiova is a major railway centre and is connected to all other major Romanian cities.
• It doesn't matter in which part of Romania you are, just access the Romanian Railroad's site and set your trip to Craiova.

• The city's taxicabs are very cheap, around 0.3 €/km.

• The city is served by Craiova International Airport, which has recently been modernized. Curently two companies operate flights from Craiova: 
• Wizz Air company operates direct flights to/from London (Luton airport) and Milano (Bergamo airport). 
• Carpart Air operated direct flights to/from Roma (Fiumicino Airport).
